I grew up in a small town on the coast of Maine, and have lived in Maine most of my life. I gratuated from Mount Desert Island Regional high school in 1985 and went on to attend the University of Maine. After spending some time in the restaurant business - cooking, managing and ultimately owning my own restaruant - I got my first I.T. job in 1992, and the rest (as they say) is history.

I married my beautiful wife Ginger in 1998 and we have raised six children together - Jackson, Samuel, Benjamin, Connor, Tarynne & Marissa. Now that the youngest of them are almost grown, I have begun to have time to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming a Certified Trainer, and making my living teaching others what I have learned in my career.

I have worked for the State of Maine's Office of Information Technology since June of 1999. Starting out as a Desktop Support technician, I moved quickly up the ladder, obtaining my first Microsoft and Citrix certifications, and becoming the States Enterprise DNS & DHCP Administrator in 2002. After several years, and several successful projects, I was made one of the State's Active Directory Forest Administrators in 2007.

Then in 2010 I became a Certified Technical Trainer, begining a new chapter in my professional and personal life. I would like to make a career change to focus more on training - helping to bring the knowledge I have gained from years of hands on experience to a new generation of young I.T. professionals just starting out, or the seasoned veterans looking to obtain that sought-after advanced certification.
